Local man invents device for dog owners
A playful feud between Anthony R. and his mother gave the young man an idea for an invention to help all dog owners. Rossi and his dog went everywhere together, including to his parents' house. But his dog could never leave the house without its manly camouflage bandana. "I always dressed my dog up in a bandana," the inventor said. "My mom would always take off the manly bandana I had put on and put on a holiday one. It got to be a thing between us."
Luckily, lighthearted fighting with his mother Inspired Anthony to invent the bandana collar. Although Anthony can't reveal the details of his invention, he said the bandana collar would make the task of dressing a dog for all occasions easier. "People will be able to have a bandana for every occasion. I see people with different styles and colors and this puts everything together," Anthony said. "Anybody that has any size dog will be interested.'
Anthony is currently working with Invent-Tech, a Florida based company that is helping him find a manufacturer for the collar. Although Anthony has been looking for a manufacturer for "well over a year," he is confident his product will be successful. "I have a very good idea that everybody will want to stock this item. Deep down inside I know it's going to go," Anthony said. "I am hoping within this year to be able to sign a contract with a manufacturer."
Anthony is so confident because "it will be easier for a toddler to a senior citizen to dress their dog for every occasion." Also Anthony said the collar has a lot of safety features so the dog can't get injured. Although the invention spawned from a clash with his mom, his mom isn't holding any grudges. "My mom and dad are just ecstatic," Anthony said.
