Local man designs 'Bible Buddy'
Perhaps a "gift from God" is the best way to describe a local couple's invention. That's because Darrell and Laura R. came up with their idea at church. "Maybe it was divine intervention, so to speak," says Darrell. "When my wife and I came up with the idea." Darrell, who is disabled and regularly attends church, struggled with juggling his Bible while trying to take notes and do other tasks. When he noticed others at church had the same problem, that's when he and his wife came up with the idea. They discussed the invention, how it would work, and how it would help them and others with the same problem. The Bible Buddy , as they have appropriately named their invention, is designed to be used when reading a Bible or any other book.
The object holds the book and at the same time frees the individual's hands while he is reading, allowing him to take notes or perform other functions with his hands. Individuals no longer need to juggle several books at the same time, and with the assistance of the Bible Buddy, they won't lose their place while reading. The product is designed to provide comfort and ease of use. "We've been excited ever since we conceived the idea," says Darrell. He points out that people from all areas, such as college and grade school student, along with those at church, can use their product. It has no limitations," he says. "We're very excited to think of all the different people our invention will be helping." And the best part about the invention, according to Darrell? "Everyone will think of God every time they use our invention!" Darrell says he and his wife have stressed that they want their product to be affordable for everyone. It's also a product they say will last for years.
