Local Man Invents New Style Water Jug
John D. got fed up with spilling water every time he changed the jug on his water cooler. So he did what many would like to do when something doesn’t work well-he invented a new one. A jug that he thinks will solve the spillage problem.
He named his creation the EZ Jug. It is touted as easy to use, affordable, and great for a growing market of consumers worldwide, according to literature from Invention Technologies, Inc. in Coral Gables. The company advertises on cable television as Invent Tech and helps people with publicity and public relations for their inventions.
“I thought there had to be a better way to change water jugs and did some brainstorming,” John said. I came up with an idea and talked to my family. Then I called Invent Tech and they are doing a great job helping me,” he said. He looked at a couple of companies to help him patent his idea, and he said Invent Tech came across as a legitimate business. There is a fee for Invent Tech’s services, which depends on the services provided.
The jug isn’t on the market yet, but it will be once a manufacturer is found and a contract signed. Invent Tech is in the process of seeking a manufacturer so the invention can go out to a wide range of markets. What is needed is a manufacturer to license the product. The jug will be available in a variety of sizes and available for private residences and businesses.
Perfecting the EZ Jug did not take very long, according to John. He said he worked on it a couple of times a week when he had time and six months later he was done. “It was not a difficult process,” he said.
Theresa, Johns wife of twenty years, his son, Christofer, and their two daughters Septemberlyn and Junae look forward to the jug’s success. So does John, but would he quit his day job if the EZ Jug takes off? “Yes, I would, if it’s successful,” he said with a little chuckle.
This is the first time John has followed through with an invention. He is a high school graduate and formerly served in the Army. He has been in his current hometown for five years. His wife was born and raised there.
